Kora Turmeric 2-in-1 Brightening & Exfoliating Mask
I. Am. OBSESSED. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I heard that Miranda Kerr had developed her own organic skincare line. With today’s saturated skincare industry, I’m sure the pressure is on when competing toe-to-toe with today’s popular skincare brands offering vegan products such as Drunk Elephant, Youth to the People, La Mer, etc. but I’ve gotta hand it to Kora’s marketing team; walking down the aisle at Sephora, the Kora shelves immediately caught my eye. I was already searching for a granular exfoliating face mask and when I saw that Kora had one with the popular anti-inflammatory ingredient turmeric, I figured why not give this mask a shot?
WHY I LOVE IT Turmeric. Its main ingredient is turmeric. What is it about turmeric that makes it so dang awesome? Its active ingredient, curcumin, has powerful biologic properties. Turmeric is best known as a spice (known as Indian saffron or golden spice), used to make capsules, powders, dyes and extracts – but did you know it is also traditionally a pillar in Ayurvedic Medicine (a holistic approach to health originating from India over 3000 years ago)? To this day, turmeric is still being used to holistically treat chronic pain due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
APPLICATION The product comes in a plastic tube (3.5 oz/100 mL) and is pretty easy to dispense. I use a mask applicator instead of my fingers to apply this particular mask because the product can get a little messy (admittedly, the color isn’t the most appealing…its a poop green. Best way I can describe it). Using the mask applicator I apply an even, thin layer on my face and leave it on for 5-10 minutes (forewarning: it dries like hard mud so don’t cake it on; otherwise, it will take longer to remove). Then I use my fingers to gently massage the mask off in a circular motion, moving downwards.
FINAL SAY 4/5 STARS A mask worthy of repurchasing! I used it 1-2 times a week and am JUST finishing the last bit of it three months later…so even though this mask is a little pricey, its effectiveness and how much product you get in one tube validates the price point for me!
